"Things explain each other, not themselves"
George Oppen 1974 'The Collected Poems of George Oppen'. New York, New Directions' p 134.

The performance arranged and rearranged a collection of visually rhyming objects. My actions involved placing objects beside, on top of, inside and behind other objects. Using techniques borrowed from collage I concentrated on the relationships that could be made by proximity and concealment, using flat, paper and small objects which rested on the floor of the gallery. The performance explored the logic of a sculptural poetics that occurs in my collage practice and so was an attempt at making sceneographic and spatial collage as performance action explicitly showing processes of live decision making.
